Why I want to champion the Liberal Democrat message in the Calder Valley
New Labour is Old Hat. The electorate is sick and tired of the Nanny State. The Conservatives are a Con – all spin and no clear policies. Only the Lib Dems with our track record of hard work and local involvement can restore faith in the electoral system and good but not meddling government.
Three good reasons to vote for me
- Local Knowledge - I have lived in the Calder Valley for nearly twenty years. Both my children went to local schools.
- Local Experience - A Director of the Upper Calder Valley Renaissance, I have been involved in the successful regeneration of local market towns and the renewal of the tourist economy.
- Local Credibility - As a Councillor, I have experience of local issues and local government. A High School Governor for five years, I am well respected in my local community.
Dedicated to her role as Governor and Chair of the Services Committee at Todmorden High, Hilary has been pressing the Government to come up with the cash for much needed new school buildings
Hilary is keen to see more involvement by local people in the regeneration of their area. "We have such a rich cultural heritage in this part of the world, we need to promote it and make it work for us", she says.
