Hilary Myers, campaigning on behalf of Todmorden

Dear Todmorden Voters,

In the last five years, first as a Calderdale Councillor then more recently as a Town Councillor, I have worked hard to help local people who have contacted me with a range of concerns and complaints. I deliver our Focus Newsletter several times a year outside of election times. I have campaigned on a number of issues that affect our local area including

Pressing for a new school to be built for Todmorden High
Demanding greater investment in the Market Hall
Fighting to retain Council funding for the Tourist Information Centre
Highlighting the on-going problems at Centre Vale Park
Looking for constructive and sustainable uses for the Town Hall
Protesting at plans to close yet more Sub-Post Offices
And, most recently, drawing attention to the threat posed to our town centre Library

The Liberal Democrats are the second largest party on Calderdale Council. It is vitally important that we hold onto this seat in Todmorden and gain additional seats in other wards of the borough in order to give us more control over the local decisions which affect all our lives. I hope you will use your vote this time to send the Conservative-led Council a message they cannot ignore.
